'Zero' box office collection Day 7: The Shah Rukh Khan starrer of 2018 fails to make an impact at the bo - Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan starrer ' Zero', which marks the actor's only major release in the year 2018 has failed to make an impact at the box office on week one as it was expected to do. The Aanand L. Rai directorial family entertainer which also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma did not come up with good numbers for such a big film in its first week. The film had opened well enough but had a flat weekend. The movie sees Shah Rukh Khan essaying the role of a dwarf man for the first time, who romances a differently abled scientist played by Anushka Sharma and is love-struck by a popular heroine played by Katrina Kaif. The film which hit the screens on December 21 has completed its first week.

According to the latest report by, on Thursday, the film has managed to collect Rs 3.75 crore on its seventh day at the box office. The film has now managed to collect a total of Rs 84.10 crore at the end of its first week. The film is expected to struggle in its second week and it remains to be seen whether the film can go over Rs 100 crore.

The first-week collection would be good for most films but is poor for such a big film.

The plot of the film revolves around Bauua Singh (Shah Rukh Khan), a vertically challenged man who squanders his father’s money and is besotted by superstar Babita Kumar (Katrina Kaif). He falls in love with a scientist, Aafia (Anushka Sharma) who is affected by cerebral palsy. Their love story travels from India to the US and all the way to the outer space.

Directed by Aanand L. Rai, 'Zero' stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. The film also sees a range of Bollywood stars making their cameo appearances during the whole film. The film also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sheeba Chaddha, Jaipreet Singh and Brijendra Kala in supporting roles.
